Volunteer coordinator

0.4 FTE (15 hours a week), £10,800 (£27,000 per year full-time rate), plus 3% employer pension contribution.

Short-term contract, fixed term until 30th April 2026.

Location: Norwich

Start date: As soon as possible

We are looking for a proactive and well-organised volunteer coordinator to inspire and support a new cohort of volunteer energy champions over a five-month period, helping us establish an effective and sustainable approach to working with volunteers. You will be a highly motivated ‘people person’ with experience of managing volunteers or community organising. You will combine excellent interpersonal skills with a systematic and reflective approach that can help Our Power develop a robust framework for involving communities in our work.

Our community interest company (CIC) has been active for just over a year, and we have ambitious plans to expand our energy advice work and help communities take action for a more people-powered and resilient energy system. This role will help us deliver a short-term contract with the Norfolk Climate Change Partnership, broadening our reach by involving volunteer energy champions, and taking steps towards a community organising approach.

You will be laying the foundations for future work, so your ability to plan effectively and reflect critically on the work will be as important as your day-to-day interactions with volunteers.

Please also complete the equality and diversity monitoring form. This is optional but helps us see if we are attracting a broad range of candidates to our roles.

We will be reviewing applications for this role on a rolling basis, so we encourage you to apply early if you can.

Communications and admin officer

0.6 FTE (22.5 hours a week), £16,200 (£27,000 per year full-time rate), plus 3% employer pension contribution.

Fixed term until 30th June 2027

Could you use your communication and organisational skills to help Norwich transition to renewable energy? We are hiring a communications and admin officer to help us manage our day-to-day work and reach new audiences.

Our community interest company (CIC) has been active for just over a year, and we have ambitious plans to expand our energy advice work and help communities take action for a more people-powered and resilient energy system. You will have a vital role to play in developing our comms presence and style, and ensuring our processes work well as we grow. You will be supporting our day-to-day work through a variety of tasks – from responding to general enquiries and collating reports for funders, to producing publicity material for events.

This is a relatively broad role which would suit someone with some prior experience in comms and/or admin in a professional context, and a willingness to get to grips with a variety of tasks. You’ll need to be comfortable with social media and generally at home in a digital environment (Microsoft Office, Canva, WordPress, Zoom etc.).

This role can be done across three, four or five days a week, to include Monday mornings, with at least one full day equivalent at our co-working space.
