Heat pump installed in December 2024 by Heat Different.
The image shows a white, rectangular heat pump fan in a garden, with two women standing on one side and a man on the other. They are all smiling at the camera. On the left of the group is a wooden fence and behind them there are the backs of typical Norwich Victorian brick houses.
“Getting a heat pump was the biggest way I could support renewable energy and get off fossil fuels – and it keeps my house warm all day, with lower bills than I had with my gas boiler. My house is now completely powered by electricity.
“Not only can I heat my home without the worry of contributing to climate change, but I also pay no gas standing charge, and have future-proofed my house.
“Getting a heat pump enabled me to switch to a Time of Use tariff, which means I can get cheaper electricity to power everything, not just my heat pump. I pay £50 a month for all my heating, hot water, and electricity.
“The process of installation took about a week, and I went to visit family during that time. I only needed to replace one radiator. The cylinder was installed where there had previously been some storage shelves, between my kitchen and bathroom.
“The biggest difference to a gas boiler is that I leave the heating on all day, meaning the house never gets cold.”
Jamie’s message to anyone considering getting a heat pump:
“Definitely do it!”
