Energy Action Days
We’re holding two Energy Action Days this November, offering free draughtproofing kit and a demo on how to spot and fix draughts, tips on saving energy and help with accessing support, plus energy advice home visits.
Local residents who have installed solar panels, heat pumps or other green measures will also be opening their homes to you so you can see the technology in action and chat to them about it.

Home visits
Our energy champions offer home visits, where they can provide more tailored advice on possible ways to save energy or be more comfortable in your home.
Home visits last about 90 minutes and can include help with adjusting your heating controls, understanding your meter, dealing with damp and mould or thinking through options for better insulation or a new heating system. For our November action days, you can request a visit if you live within a 10-minute walk of the venue.
Places are limited! Please use the following forms to request a visit:
Home visit request form – Silver Road area, 22nd November
Home visit request form – Hotblack Road area, 29th November

Interested in a heat pump or solar panels, but have questions? Come and visit a local resident who has installed these technologies already, and chat to them about their experience. Residents will kindly be opening their homes on the following dates:
Saturday 29th November – heat pump, Hotblack Road, NR2
Saturday 29th November – heat pump, solar panels and electric car, Northumberland St, NR2
Sunday 30th November – heat pump, Wingfield Road, NR3
We plan to hold more action days in different parts of the city in 2026. If you’d like to see one near you, or can offer an ‘open home’ visit on a future date, please let us know at info@ourpower.org.uk.
