Solar panels were installed on more than a quarter of a million UK roofs in 2025. Heat pumps are now four times more efficient than a gas boiler. Home battery prices have dropped by about 90% since 2010.

Join Our Power Community Energy for this free event to find out where to start with upgrading your home, what technologies might work best for you, and what grants and loans are available.

As well as short talks on heat pumps, solar and batteries, we’ll be joined by a Poringland resident who has installed a heat pump, solar panels, battery and electric car charger and is now paying around £1 a day for their energy – including car charging.

There will also be an opportunity to chat to local installers and Our Power’s energy advisors so you can take the next step towards an efficient, low-carbon home.

Doors open at 6:30pm and we advise arriving around then if you’d like to chat to installers or get a hot drink before the talk starts at 7pm. We’ll have a break with more time for conversations, and the event will finish at 9pm.

Our Power helps people in the Norwich area take more control of their energy. We do this by providing free, impartial energy advice, helping people access grants and other support, and connecting people up to share their experiences of green technologies like heat pumps. We’re funded to provide this free service – we’re not selling anything.

We also work with local communities to explore possibilities for a different kind of energy system – whether that’s community-owned renewables, heat networks or shared projects to save energy.
